It sounds like you're weighing a couple of different things, namely office politics and starting your own business. Striking out on your own can be scary -- it's hard to walk away from a steady paycheck to follow your dream.

In the salon business, clientelle is the key. If you've got enough names in your book to keep the new salon open for awhile, I'd say go for it. Just remember that you need time to establish a presence, hire some employees, and grow that client list.

Office politics (which is a nice way of saying "drama") is inevitable to some degree; but if you're the owner, it will be a lot easier for you to squash it.

"Behave like an adult, or I'll replace you with someone who will!" Being able to say that to the office gossip may be the single greatest reason to start your own business. Work hard on your business plan, and if you're sure that you can operate for at least six months, go for it!

Ive been thinking this for more than a month now. I actually building up new business (Beauty Salon) and I'm also employed for 4 years having a good salary. So much politics inside the office which I'm involved but I'm gaining good salary. I'm very confuse now if I should stay or just resign. Good Salary vs Business (Not sure if will succeed). Its killing me... I love my work but talking behind me is not good. Hope you understand what I'm pointing out here. Need your advice.

Sustained! If anything, "gay" as an adjective is supposed to mean "happy," or "aloof." Saying "gay" to mean "bad" is an absolutely cretinous use of language!

AGREED. I also would like people to stop using "gay" as a slur. And hug each other more, but that's a different post...

Two great posts for bloggers that even the more experienced bloggers need reminding of. Like I haven't blogged in months, but am I going to apologize for it? Thanks to this reminder of the BlogPology, no! I'm just going to post when I can. :)
